Welcome to our latest showcase project, a collaborative effort between the Appalachian Service Project (ASP), The Home Depot Foundation (HDF), and Solid Rock Carpenters (SRC). This ambitious endeavor highlights the incredible impact of community partnership and cutting-edge technology to provide affordable housing for families in need. We proudly present the journey of building 16 homes in just 3 hours in White Sulphur Springs, WV, destined for deserving families in Kentucky and Tennessee.

We first must imagine the perfect home. Then we consider each of the essential components and how they will relate, interact, and enhance each other to become integral parts of the symphony.

ASP J Framing

Phase I: Project Modeling for Two Designs (Northbrook, IL)

Dates: 3/1/2024 – 3/30/2024

Using state-of-the-art Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology, our design team created two highly efficient and sustainable home designs. This phase allowed us to visualize and refine every detail, ensuring optimal functionality and aesthetics.

Phase II: Component Preparation
(Mount Prospect, IL)

Dates: 4/1/2024 – 5/30/2024

In Mount Prospect, IL, our volunteers and skilled workers meticulously prepared the components. Each section of the homes was pre-assembled, following the precise specifications from our BIM models. This preparation was crucial for the swift and efficient assembly on build day.

Phase III: Build Day Preparation (White Sulphur Springs, WV)

Dates: 6/2/2024 – 6/4/2024

Arriving in White Sulphur Springs, WV, our team and community volunteers prepared the site for the big day. Logistics, safety protocols, and final touches were all coordinated to ensure a seamless construction process.

Phase IV: Build Day (White Sulphur Springs, WV)

Date: 6/5/2024 (9am-noon)

In an awe-inspiring display of teamwork and dedication, 16 homes were built in just 3 hours. The pre-assembled components were swiftly and expertly put together, transforming the site into a neighborhood of hope and opportunity.
